Institutional Campus Ministry and Pastoral Care
The DLSMHSI Institutional Campus Ministry and Pastoral Care Office desires to provide our students, faculty, and members of the community with holistic programs that would touch both the minds and hearts. All these are well-reflected and designed based on the Lasallian core values of faith, service, communion in mission and reverence for life.
Through our creative teaching and learning you will experience the reality of living faith in accordance with the Lasallian spirituality, the Catholic traditions, and doctrines without discriminating against other Christians and non-Christian traditions, faith, and culture.
We encourage active participation in the Eucharistic Celebration, Rosary Devotion, Novenas, Marian Exhibit, Baccalaureate Mass, and provide assistance to students, faculty, and members of the Lasallian Community who have not yet received the sacraments of baptism, confirmation, Eucharist, and reconciliation.
Each program aims to integrate faith with life in accordance with the tradition of the Catholic Church. Lasallian Mission Ministers are available to mentor and guide individuals through holistic programs and activities, both within and outside the classroom setting. These include retreats, recollections, and the involvement of student volunteers such as Domus Dei and Youth for Christ, who assist the Campus Ministry and Chaplaincy Office in various endeavors related to evangelization, prayer, worship, pilgrimage, and other spiritual and religious needs of the entire Lasallian community.
Additionally, spiritual guidance is provided to students, faculty, and academic support staff to foster the spiritual, moral, and ethical development of the entire Lasallian community. To ensure the effectiveness and quality of our service to the Lasallian community, the Institutional Campus Ministry and Pastoral Care Office implement programs that contribute to the holistic formation of the community, in consultation with the Office of the Lasallian Mission and Linkages.

FAITH FORMATION
-
First-year module: "Journey of the Soul"
The main objective of the formations facilitated by the Institution is to highlight the impact of prayers and spiritual practices in helping develop and deepen the relationship of each student and personnel with God, who has always been present in their lives. Each formation held will enable everyone to acquire a contemplative outlook that seeks God’s invitations to love and serve in the needs, duties, and challenges of everyday living.
-
Second-year module: "Journey to Selfhood"
The objective of formation in the domain of growth in freedom is to assist individuals in cultivating the virtues of reason, affectivity, volition, and spirituality. These virtues enable one to act in manners that foster integral personal development and the flourishing of human communities. The person of Jesus and the example set by the Founder serve as models for Christian virtues, shaping what it means to embody Lasallian character.
-
Third-year module: "Shared Journeys"
The objective of formation in the domain of association and fraternity is to assist individuals in developing relational attitudes and skills necessary for building and sustaining genuinely fraternal communities.
These communities are characterized by members supporting and accompanying one another in their various Lasallian vocations. It is crucial to understand from the outset that “fraternity” entails sisters and brothers collectively fostering familial bonds of mutual love and concern. Lasallian Formation for Mission aims to cultivate this ethos.
-
Fourth-year module: "Many Wells, One River"
The objective of this formation is to remind every student to be grateful for all the blessings they receive, whether big or small, as each person has their own role in the world to be an instrument of God's love.
-
Grade 11 module: "Beneath His Wing"
The module will emphasize the importance of prayer as a means of seeking guidance and discernment. Participants will learn about various forms of prayer and how to integrate them into their decision-making process.
Applying Faith in Decision-Making: Through case studies, discussions, and activities, participants will learn to apply the principles of faith and Jesus' teachings to various decision scenarios, including career choices, relationships, and ethical dilemmas.
-
Grade 12 module: "Beyond the Visible"
Embracing the concept of seeing with the eyes of faith encourages a stronger sense of trust in a divine plan. Reflecting on reality in the light of the Christian faith deepens trust, fostering the spiritual goal of developing unwavering faith and reliance on this higher power's guidance.
-
Recollection for First-year Medicine students: "I Am Called to Nurture Life”
This module focuses on being a blessing to others, especially to the sick, as future doctors. The objective is to provide first-year Medicine students with a comprehensive understanding of foundational principles, ethical considerations, and essential skills essential for nurturing and caring for human life. By the module's conclusion, students should be able to demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and a solid grasp of the fundamental concepts underpinning the medical profession.
The journey into medicine begins with a deep understanding of the responsibility and privilege inherent in the role of a healthcare provider. As future physicians, students must not only acquire scientific knowledge but also foster values such as empathy, compassion, and ethical decision-making.
SPIRITUAL FORMATION
-
Advent Recollection for Employees
The Advent season signifies the start of the new calendar year for the Catholic Church. During this period, we anticipate the first coming of the Lord, celebrated over the four Sundays leading up to Christmas. It involves anticipation, reflection, and preparation for the birth of Jesus Christ. In line with this, the ICMPC Office organizes a recollection for DLSMHSI employees.
-
Lenten Recollection for Employees
The Lenten season, observed within the Catholic Church, reminds us of our spiritual journey beginning on Ash Wednesday and concluding on Holy Wednesday of Holy Week, preparing believers for the resurrection of our Lord. During this time, many churchgoers practice fasting, abstinence, and almsgiving, and attend recollections. For Catholics, participating in a recollection during Lent is a profound experience, offering spiritual refreshment. Therefore, the ICMPC Office created a program to remind employees of the Institution of the value and importance of the Lenten season.
-
Marian Pilgrimage
The month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary, and Catholics celebrate the feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary during this time. Many DLSMHSI employees have a profound devotion to our Blessed Mother. To nurture and deepen their devotion, the ICMPC Office proposes a Marian Pilgrimage to various locations where we can pray the Holy Rosary. At each church we visit, we recite one mystery of the Holy Rosary, aiming to help participants develop a deeper relationship with Jesus through His Mother.
-
Lenten Pilgrimage (Visita Iglesia)
The Lenten pilgrimage, or Visita Iglesia, is one of the beautiful practices observed during the season of Lent. Pilgrimages serve as reminders that we are just pilgrims in this world. With this in mind, the ICMPC Office organizes Lenten Pilgrimages for DLSMHSI employees to nurture the growth of their spiritual journey as Catholic believers.
